Press75.com Gets a Surprise Makeover… So What’s Next?

Posted on April 17, 2010 by Jason Schuller - 25 Comments

RebootSo I have been working on a little surprise for Press75.com for about the last week, and I am glad to finally reboot the site with a brand new design. I realized something the other week which caused me to re-think everything I have done with Press75.com over the last few months. My focus has been on growing the site “bigger and better” which in actuality drove me to lose site as to why Press75.com became popular in the first place. In short, this reboot is just the first step in getting back to what I do best… delivering a unique and quality product without a bunch of unnecessary hype.

Keeping Things Simple

My goal for the next few months (and probably for the life of Press75.com) is to continue on the path of keeping things simple and efficient. So what does that really mean anyway? Well, lets start with Press75.com… the last design (which I launched in August of 2009) was so content heavy including huge theme screenshots and descriptions that I think the underlying product got lost in a sea of information. The concept behind this new design was to eliminate all the unnecessary promotional garbage and just deliver my themes, short and sweet. I have this idea (and set me straight if I’m wrong) that this is what you are really looking for in my WordPress themes as well…

New Themes and Theme Updates on the Way

With simplicity in mind, I will be spending the next month updating all of my older themes using a new development framework to eliminate unecessary bulk and deliver clean, efficient and extremely well documented code. Every theme will become consistent with 100% valid XHTML and CSS, key customization and content management options within a brand new options pages, as well as several new custom widgets and features. I have concepts ready for brand new themes as well that will change the way you think about WordPress. Some of these theme concepts rely on new WordPress 3.0 functionality (scheduled for a May/June launch), so you can expect new themes being released on Press75.com within the next month as well.

WordPress 3.0 is on Its Way

Of course I haven’t forgotten that WordPress 3.0 is well on its way to becomming official. Every single Press75.com theme has already been tested on 3.0 beta without any issues, but of course when WordPress 3.0 finally launches, I will be adding all the great new 3.0 functionality within every theme. Some of this new functionality includes a brand new menu management system, custom post types, improved multimedia features and much more. WordPress 3.0 is going to open the door to do so much more with WordPress and themes that I am very excited for the next few months.

A long Awaited On Demand Update

So I know you have waited a long time for a new version of my popular On Demand theme, and I wanted to mention that I have already started development on version 2.0 of the theme which will include a slightly updated design as well as many new features.

Thanks Again for Making Press75.com a Success

I recently stumbled across a little site called “IMReportCard.com”, and to my surprise, Press75.com already had a profile created with several reviews by random Press75.com customers. As I read through the few customer reviews I was very happy to find that the general consensus was that Press75.com delivers quality WordPress themes at a very reasonable price with outstanding customer support. With that in mind, Press75.com would not be where it is today without its customers, and I wanted to take a second to thank every single one of you for your continuing support.

Press75.com has been delivering professional WordPress themes for nearly 2 years now, and while it is not always an easy task, it is my ongoing goal to get as close to 100% user satisfaction as I possibly can. Web design and development is my passion, but reading reviews like these keeps me going. Check out IMReportCard.com including the Press75.com report card here. Thanks again…

Where has the seven five demo gone?

I use that to keep upto date with what you are upto through twitter. (for some reason which I am yet to work out that demo is the only working twitter feed I can get on the whole of the internet…due to Chinese firewall)

Please put it back up… I enjoy your daily updates!

P.S. Nice revamp by the way although I did love the comment section of the previous one!

            Twitter is blocked in China.

Nobodys twitter feeds come through on anysite…

however for some strange reason yours comes through on the sevenfive demo site….

            its weird…

its as though it pulls it from somewhere else and bypasses the block.

you’ll be privileged to know that I can only read one persons twitter feed on the whole internet..yours!

            cheers

            sven.

It’s the GREAT CHINESE FIREWALL of censorship.

Hong Kong might be the exception due to a different political system.
