The “Simple Video Embedder” WordPress plugin is the perfect companion for anyone wanting to embed video within their WordPress powered website. Let’s face it, video has landed, and WordPress isn’t just for blogging anymore. Many of my WordPress themes integrate video in a way that is very visually appealing, but until now there really wasn’t a “simple” way to embed video within your posts without having to go through a bunch of time consuming, and confusing (depending on the user) steps.

Embed Any Video Format With Ease

With the Simple Video Embedder plugin, adding video to your post is as easy as pasting the URL for the video you want to add within a field, and then click submit. You can even provide simple “width” and “height” parameters to size your video to match your theme. Currently, this “URL embed” method works perfectly with several services including Vimeo.com, YouTube.com, MetaCafe.com, Revver.com, Google Video and Seesmic.com. Or, of you want to host your own video, the plugin is also compatible with FLV (Flash Video) and Quicktime formats. If your video service is not on the list of currently supported formats for the “URL embed” feature, you can use the optional “embed code” field. The “Simple Post Thumbnails” WordPress plugin marks the beginning of several plugins to be released on Press75.com. Using thumbnail images within your posts is a visually efficient way to give your visitors insight as to what your post is about without wasting a bunch of unnecessary space. The majority of my WordPress themes use post thumbnails, but until now there really wasn’t a “simple” way to add thumbnails to your posts without having to go through a bunch of time consuming steps.

Add Post Thumbnails With Ease

With the Simple Post Thumbnails plugin, adding thumbnail images to your posts is as easy as uploading any image (no editing required) and clicking the “Update Post” button. Upon upload, the plugin will re-size and crop the selected image according to whatever parameters you specify within the plugin configuration.
