This post shows the images in the gallery in a slideshow by setting slider="true" in the gallery shortcode. It is then featured at the top of the post be setting featured="true" in the gallery shortcode as well.
Here is what the shortcode looks like to display a featured slideshow as seen in this post.

The following thumbnails are displayed using the regular gallery shortcode. Hoon nicely styles gallery thumbnails up to six columns wide!
The text shown in the black bar of the slideshow is the images caption. The caption is also displayed beneath each thumnbail if set.
