Featured Categories are Just as Valuable as Featured Posts
If you haven't checked out my latest Video Theme yet, you might want to have a look. The brand new TV Elements 3.0 WordPress theme has what I think is a great new feature that I intend on implementing within many of my upcoming themes. I wanted to create a way where you could choose and feature "categories" similar to the way most themes allow you to feature posts. With that in mind, I developed a featured category gallery for the new TV Elements theme that allows you to configure up to 12 categories of your choice. Each featured category ... Read More
Auto Support Registration for new Press75.com Customers
Something I have been meaning to do for quite a long time is integrate auto support registration for all Press75.com customers. Until now, this was a painstaking manual process which entailed new customers having to manually register within the support forums and then verify their membership via email. This was very time consuming for both the customer and myself. As of today, support forum registration is automatic. When you make any theme or theme pack purchase on Press75.com, you will automatically be registered within the support forums and will be notified via email of your account details. I know this ... Auto Installation of Required Plugins for Press75.com Themes
I have been busy trying to find ways to make the installation process for themes even easier for all levels of WordPress users. Downloading and installing required theme plugins doesn't take long, but I have made this process much faster by creating an "auto-install" option upon theme activation. Basically, after activating any Press75.com theme, you will be notified as to which plugins are required along with an "Install" link. Click the "Install" link to auto-install each plugin and then simply activate them after the installation process is complete. Check out the video below for a quick demonstration of this new ... New Customization Options & Updates
The release of "Social Life" is the start of some brand new customization options coming to all my future WordPress themes. The more I continue to develop on my new theme framework, the easier I am finding it to integrate many of the features users have been looking for. Some of the things I would like to integrate into my new themes include navigation customization, enhanced featured content customization, post layout options, enhanced background configuration options, improved advertisement management, social media options and much more. I am going to try an implement many of these things within my next few ... Read More
WordPress 2.9 New Features and Press75.com Themes
WordPress 2.9 should be released to the public sometime within the next month or so, and if you didn't already know, it will include several new features that will change the way you use Press75.com themes. Post Thumbnails This basically duplicates the functionality of my Simple Post Thumbnails plugin, allow you to easily add a post image of any dimension wherever you want in a theme. I am currently testing this functionality with my newer themes and will consider it as a potential replacement for the Simple Post Thumbnails plugin that I current use for all my themes. Basic Image Editing This allows you ... Read More
New Themes on a Brand New Theme Framework
Consistency in code is very important in my opinion which is why I have been spending the last few weeks developing a brand new theme framework for which all my new themes will be based on. This all started with the work I did on my new theme options pages and has since expanded to an entire foundation for developing new themes. Depending on the type of user you are, you might not even notice a difference, but if you like to dig into the code a little bit, you will find that customizing my themes, or adding new features ... New Options Pages for Every Theme
I have been working hard on a new style for my theme options pages that can consistently be used for all of my themes. After a few revisions, I believe I have hit the mark and have since updated all of my themes with this new options page style. A Widget Style Interface I wanted to create a style that blends well with the default WordPress admin, but at the same gives you clean and easy to follow theme options. With that in mind, I duplicated the style of the default WordPress dashboard and created a "widget" for each theme option which ... Read More
Gravity Forms… Taking WordPress Form Management to the Next Level
I would like to take a few minutes to welcome Gravity Forms to the world of WordPress. Created by the Rocket Genius crew, Gravity Forms is all you need for adding and managing forms within your WordPress powered website. Gravity Forms is a premium plugin carrying a starting price tag of $39, but what you get for the money is more than worth it. Yeah, there are plenty of form plugins available for WordPress, but none of them even begin to compare to the seamless integration of Gravity Forms. I have been using Gravity Forms on Press75.com for the last ... Read More
Just Released “Work Place”… So What’s Next?
Introducing the Work Place WordPress Theme The Work Place WordPress theme has only been available for a week and is already a big hit, so thanks for your comments and your patronage. Most of my themes are fairly gray toned, and I really wanted to break away from that with the Work Place theme by adding a bold color palette to the overall design. Using color is risky and I typically use gray or neutral tones for a reason which is the fact that neutral tones apply to the majority. When you start to add personalized color to a theme, you ... Welcome to the All New Press75.com
Well, it's been several weeks in the making, but I have finally finished the all new Press75.com. As you might have already noticed, quite a few things have changed. As always, your feedback is appreciated. Now that I have finished the re-design, I will hopefully have a bit more time to work on new themes as well as theme updates. First on the list for release will be the lifestream theme (which can be seen at thesevenfive.com), followed by a brand new version of Video Elements. I might also have a few other surprises here and there which will not be ... Read More
