WordPress 2.9 Specific

Theme Requirements

Photo Graphic requires WordPress 2.9+, MySQL 5+ and PHP 5+ with GD Support enabled in order to function properly. If you're not sure that your hosting environment will support the Photo Graphic theme, you can download the free requirements check plugin HERE. Simply upload then activate the plugin after which a message will be displayed telling you if your environment is compatible. If your hosting environment is not compatible, a list will be displayed telling you exactly what needs to be upgraded.

Upload and Activate the Theme

1. Log into your WordPress Admin, select "Appearance" and then "Add New Themes".
2. After the page loads, select "Upload" and browse for the "photo-graphic.zip" them file.
3. Click "Install Now" and wait for the page to reload.
4. Under the "Appearance" menu, click "Themes" and select the Photo Graphic theme to activate it.
5. Follow the On Screen instructions for installing required plugins.

Configure the Theme Options Page (OPTIONAL)

Once you have activated the theme, you should take a few minutes to configure the Photo Graphic options page. Select Appearance and then Theme Options within your WordPress admin to load the options page. Follow the on screen instructions to configure the items below:

• Site Logo Configuration
• Header Advertisement (Top Right) 468x60

Configure Theme Widgets (OPTIONAL)

The Photo Graphic theme includes two brand new and exclusive sidebar widgets that allow you customize and enhance your sidebar with ease. The Simple Sidebar Ads widget provides options for adding and managing 125x125 advertisements within your sidebar. The Simple Category Posts widget allows you to display featured content (posts) within the sidebar with numerous different configuration options.

1. Log in to the WordPress Administration Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and then Widgets.
3. Click Add next to any widget to add that widget to your sidebar.
4. Once added, you can click edit (right) to edit the Widget Options.
5. You can also re-arrange widgets by dragging and dropping them above or below one another.

Writing a Post (IMPORTANT)

Follow the steps below to for writing photo posts.

1. Within the WordPress Administration Control Panel, expand the Posts tab, then select Add New.
2. Create a title for your post and add a description within the post field.
3. Scroll down to the Post Thumbnail Options box within the post editor.
4. Paste the URL to any image on the web, or click Select Image to select the image you wish to use for your post.
5. Click Update Post to save your options and wait for the page to reload.
6. After the page loads, you should see a preview of your image.
